Great slaw dogs and root beer

This is the first place I've found in Indiana that actually sells SLAW DOGS! Considering I'm from the 'south' where Slaw dogs are the only way they come, I had no idea how hard it would b to find a place that sells them! so of course im happy about finding this place.....But I was disappointed that they put horseradish in there slaw. Oh, I wish it were just regular slaw. If I could make a suggestion...Not trying to step on your business identity, but just asking if maybe at some point you could Also, add just regular slaw to the option, so those of us who don't really like horseradish can have an enjoyable experience. Thank you for having a slaw dog option though.

The wait staff are wonderful,always wonderful, but twice this season they have left pieces of my order off and it's not awesome to have to drive back and I suppose I should check it first but I shouldn't have to, it should be done properly! There, I said it. Good root beer floats though, for sure!

I recommend the slaw dog. The slaw has horseradish, but it goes really well with the hot dog. The root beer is really sweet and heavy on the vanilla, not my favorite style.

Great visit! Slaw dog had a nice horseradish zing to it. The owner was very personable. He sat down with me and told me a bit of the history for the drive-in. He kindly offered me a complimentary mug of root beer. It was delicious!

Genes has one of the best all around menu' s for drives in the area!

This is a perfect place for families to go. They come to you. The service is great. And it brings back a little bit of that nostalgia that you had when you were a kid. defrost root beer mugs are great in the hot dogs always tastes delicious the kids love it. If you have a chance you should take your family here for sure this is a great destination.

Nostalgic and Super Friendly Fast Service

I came here with my family for the first time today. We tried the hot dogs with their house spanish sauce, their french fries and onion rings and the root beer floats with Gene's homemade root beer. Our server was super friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our drive in restaurant experience. We will be back :)

Your food is brought out in a paper sack but you are welcome to stay and eat in your car. Did miss my root beer being in thg he mug. Other then that it was same quality of food, drinks, and service!

This place is awesome! If you get the "Spanish Sauce", it's kinda like a thin sloppy Joe sauce. Race there!

Absolutely the worst Spanish / Coney Dog I've ever had. My whole family had the runs for 3 days. Please go any place other than here

Decided to do a “coney tour” around Muncie on the motorcycles for fun. This was a recommendation but unfortunately did not impress at all. Cold food and the “cheese” on it.....well, was not cheese and not sure where the coney sauce was but it lacked it. Thank goodness it was inexpensive. Great service though.

Always good food and great service! Just didn't like the mozzarella sticks they tasted bland but everything else tasted great! Plus we think they have the best root beer in town!!!

I go for two reasons, 1 it's really good, 2 it's nostalgic for me. Everyone loves opening a root beer stand every year we look forward to it as a sign that spring is here!!

I thought a tenderloin was a big tenderloin and it wasn't tastes like it was a Frozen didn't like it then they forgot my ranch dressing I want it on the side had to wait wait still like a root beer though

A hidden gem & local legend. This place is absolutely amazing! Their root beer is killer! I highly recommend their chili and onion dog. Don't forget to grab some packs of the chili seasoning before you go so you can make some at home later on.

Would had been better if fried mushrooms tasted alright. Got sick from it . Finally feeling a bit better today.

Hi. I have a problem. I can't stop eating Gene's fries. They are perfect. Not too salty and I swear they have a buttery taste. fried mushrooms and onion rings mmmm... The drive in style is groovy. I really like the slaw dog. So far I haven't tried anything I didn't like there.

I get trying to put your own spin on things... but horseradish in Cole slaw? <insert sad face here>. I was excited I'd finally found a slaw dog. Then bummed out when I found out it had horseradish. Doh. But the server was friendly and great.

Slaw dog is Great everything else is just ok at best nothing is like high quality food but it’s pretty good.

We're happy you changed from Pepsi to Coke. Tenderloins are still the best.

This is a very charming retro drive up with the original owners decendence running it. It's been there for nearly 60 years. The staff is great and they have great yummy food. and they amazingly make their own Rootbeer. The even make diet root beer. It's so Good!

Did you know they actually put mustard on the dogs unlike another national chain. Supporting local business! Back home.

Best slaw dogs anywhere!

Root beer was a little sweet and fries somewhat soggy. Usually this place is a 5 just not tonight. Still love you guys. Still the best.
